I don’t know where this came from..

A Note

In the wee hours of Sunday morning I deleted all the comments ever on accident. I marked them all as spam and they dissapeared. I don’t think the blog reports back spammers (my friends) to an sort of service.Drink + laptop=no. I apologize for the lack of action around here… it’s been replaced with live action.

Also, I still love the Selby.

Ikea Funny

We added our office to the Ikea office space gallery… check out those hard working legs.

The Post-bit Atom?

One reason concerts are alive and records are dead is that there’s a new value in things which can’t be uploaded as digital content to the internet. I call this phenomenon “the post-bit atom”. It also explains why the art market is booming. Art and music have become social occasions. An art opening or a concert (or, even better, an art opening with a concert included) is a chance for people who spend all day in front of computer screens to see their fellow human beings and share an intense, loud, colourful, real experience with them.

Art and music are also “distinction machines”: efficient ways for people to sum up complex clusters of values — social, political, aesthetic and ethical — and connect with like-minded souls. None of this is going to become less important any time soon.

Holy Grail

…of lost pictures on the internet. I used to think this image was so funny.. but somewhere along the way it got lost. FOUND!

Out West

Thursday Allison “roped” me (it wasn’t that hard really) into seeing Gogol Bordello at Toad’s place, in Richmond, on a worknight. I in turn “roped” Anna-Claire (also not so hard) into coming along for gypsy times. In my few hours spent there I enjoyed another long and never boring Gogol Bordello performance, a private Hot Lava show (practice), giant PBRs courtesy of AC, and Allison’s new palace in the sky. Bonus: Allison surprised me with my “Fans Only” Belle and Sebastian DVD that I wrote off as lost years ago. This is the only DVD I’ve ever owned with rounded corners.

Turbow

This is a neat way to show a collection – Rebecca Turbow Spring ‘08. I sweat her too much. I don’t think I could get away with wearing her stuff around these parts. I’d be called a space lady.

Fencing

I thought I’d found a local fencing club that might be willing to teach me THE WAY OF THE SWORD. I’ve been excited for days and just now sent them an e-mail – IT BOUNCED BACK!!!

Maybe I could get a DVD and fight myself.

My God. What is this feeling? It’s not like envy, or even hungry.

An Update

This poster for Mister Lonely (4/30 Limited Release) is gorgeous.

I’ve been keeping pretty busy with real work and made up work recently so I don’t have anything fun to report. I bought a new camera so (maybe) this blog will get interesting in the near future. Today I was pulled over for the first time in years, thankfully the officer was really nice and let me go. Quite the break – the city and my insurance company would have taken all of my bush money!

Diabetes Ruined Christmas

Drunk Apples to Apples, prezzies, sleepy puppies, movies – Christmas was so fun! Until after dinner when a (dark seeker) diabetic in an SUV, asleep at the wheel, with one shoe on, came crashing into my Saturn parked in front of the house. What a hassle.
