Poketo

Poketo did a collection of accessories for Target! I’ve lurked their site for a couple years now, admiring their many pretty art wallets. I picked up a checkbook style wallet with a bear on it. Today I visited to their website to find a much bigger selection of products. Tiny collectable design chairs (Ginny!), ipod speakers, stationary, prints, etc.

Warm

So cute! Both at J Crew – can’t wait for summer times.

Emily Ryan Dresses

Emily Ryan

Oh man. The one on the left would be my cartoon character uniform, were that an option. Looks so warm and comfy. The one on the right is for when things get fancy.

Dumb thing I want.

breadou

BREADOU – [n.] Computer Wrist Rest ( mouse wrist rest / keyboard wrist rest ) that looks like and smells like a real bread made from NASA memory foam.

This is the best looking office thing I’ve ever seen. I love fake foods.

Problem Solving

dresser drawer

DRAWER FIXING PROJECT: Seven broke the drawer that was already half broken, I showed it to Mike and he suggested wood glue. I smeared wood glue all around the seams where the bottom of the drawer kept collapsing and let it sit overnight. I thought this was very impressive and inventive until I found a dozen blogs suggesting gluing your Ikea furniture when you initially put it together. I’m going to see how it holds up to the weight of Seven + clothes and then do the rest of the drawers.

BACK UP MY LIVELIHOOD PROJECT: In college I had a clicking laptop hard drive on the verge of collapse and was forced into buying a fancy $250 Lacie external drive at the apple store. It saved my ass that day and promptly died a couple months later. I was burned! Ever since I’ve been wary of these things, despite their absolute necessity for someone like me. Finally acknowledging how terrible it would be to have no portfolio, I found this 250gb Passport drive online for $40 and it is way smaller, way cuter, and hasn’t died yet (I received it today). Time Machine makes it really easy to back up your machine – I took a nap and it was done!

I plan on continuing to solve problems for myself and others, so check back for more things you already know about. Like rubbing your clothes together to get the deodorant off, slob.

The New Sleep

This is my dad modeling new comforter, purchased to accompany new bed and new sheets. Bedsores, not me, no more!

Turbow

This is a neat way to show a collection – Rebecca Turbow Spring ‘08. I sweat her too much. I don’t think I could get away with wearing her stuff around these parts. I’d be called a space lady.

Want…

… a dozen dresses just like this for summer.

Christopher Brosius Hates Perfume

CB I Hate Perfume creates uncommon perfumes and scents – similar to the Demeter Fragrance Library, but with better packaging. Perfume is intimidating and I don’t trust my taste when it comes to scents. I know nothing about notes and oils –I liken perfume talk to wine talk. Despite my ignorance, I am interested in these kind of scents, the ones that evoke a memory or an idea rather than say smelling trampy or fancy. I would like to order a smell, maybe Cradle of Light or Memory or Kindness. I’m sure this will end in me and Seven smelling like musty hippies.

Good looking things I refuse to buy.

Recently I started keeping track of my expenses and creating a budget at Expensr. My biggest waste of cash is clothes, I already knew that much, but now I have figures and charts. I’ve done an excellent job of staying out of stores lately, but I’ve fallen victim to online shopping tonight. It’s 1:30 am and I’m waiting up for Dan, he’s driving down after work (he gets off around midnight).
