Nosy

by Todd Selby

I love to look in people’s houses. Thank you Todd Selby!

Ikea Funny

We added our office to the Ikea office space gallery… check out those hard working legs.

I don’t pick stuff up, I knock stuff down.

The Post-bit Atom?

One reason concerts are alive and records are dead is that there’s a new value in things which can’t be uploaded as digital content to the internet. I call this phenomenon “the post-bit atom”. It also explains why the art market is booming. Art and music have become social occasions. An art opening or a concert (or, even better, an art opening with a concert included) is a chance for people who spend all day in front of computer screens to see their fellow human beings and share an intense, loud, colourful, real experience with them.

Art and music are also “distinction machines”: efficient ways for people to sum up complex clusters of values — social, political, aesthetic and ethical — and connect with like-minded souls. None of this is going to become less important any time soon.

July Ladies

Happy Birthday my lady friends (Anna-Claire, Allison, Thara & Marie!)

Holy Grail

…of lost pictures on the internet. I used to think this image was so funny.. but somewhere along the way it got lost. FOUND!

Relateable

Jenny is married.

Jenny, one of my besties from youth, got married this weekend! The wedding was quite a party and held at this strange/fun bed and breakfast. She is moving to England next month for four years so this was one of the last times I will see her before the move. Her brother covered “Fight to Live” and there was a “Bohemian Rhapsody” singalong. I don’t know her new husband very well, but he was an excellent sport about the wedding being on her home turf and mostly her people in attendance. Jenny looked great and did this hilarious surprise dance with her dad (video below). I love the Stone family! More pictures on my flickr.

Lindsey Benjamin Franklin’s Philadelphia Home of Patriotism

The weekend of the 4th was spent with Ginny & Lindsey at Lindsey’s “West Philadelphia Home”. Our travels up and back included a van with the license plate BONG and getting foiled by Maryland Starbucks signs both ways. Lindsey showed us a lot of delicious food, a lot of rain, a giant bottle of vodka, and a drunk NSFW “house-clothes” photoshoot. Maybe we showed her those last two thing. Other highlights: meeting JOSEPH, “My Blueberry Nights” (terrible movie directed by Patches the cat), vegetarian cheese steak, Chinese jewelry shop, strange cat necklace for Anna-Claire (that I lost!), and finally Ginny’s night in the bath tub.

I’ve got some photos up at my flickr.

Charm City Hamburgers

This lovely hamburger cake was a gift from my coworkers. Hands down best work birthday ever! I got to hear the birthday song in Russian, Spanish and English. I wish I could have it as a fake cake and keep it forever… yes those are googly eyes.

PS – I’m posting from Ginny’s guest room, we are embarking on a journey to the Liberty Bell (Lindsey Martin) tomorrow.
