Imaginary nature paintings. I appreciate how her web site is so well matched to her work.

A blog with a manifesto..
Our generation has no choice but to indulge in a revised futurism beyond the historically-anchored concept of Futurism. Uninhibited time-shifting and multi-directional time-travel are more advanced than constantly pushing the seams of forward progress. With no new territory, we cannot simply be the New Adventures of Lewis and Clark to etch our names in heavy tomes. We must move back and forth, side to side in our honest attempt to break new ground.
-W. David MARX, Neojaponisme Manifesto
Despite it’s narrow color scheme, Neojaponisme covers a wide range of topics in depth. I love essay blogs, even if this one calls my blog content into question … “#5. We refuse to abandon the Net to hollow carbohydrates!” Also see it’s less formal companion, Meta no Tame.

2007

This is my personal best of 2007, similar to Lindsey’s. Here it is, in no order, with no theme.
• Dan’s Drawings – He taped original drawings to my Christmas presents to hide the shoddy wrapping job. I saved them, they are wonderful, so much better than any wrapping paper.
• World of Warcraft – No one wants to hear about this.
• Pilates – I started going to a pilates class at my gym 2 months ago. I bet everyone in the class thinks I am a mute, dyslexic, wobbly ass spazz, but I love it! My hopes are to be graceful (for the first time in my life) and appear to be 9ft tall.

• RVCA ANP Quarterly – This is here because after a subscription in June, and a month of complaints (this is a fucking free magazine! Why can’t I pay to have it delivered!) I finally received an issue Friday. It’s an 11” x 17” art magazine with no ads, refreshing!

•Albums – I don’t talk much about music because I’m not qualified, but this year I loved:
Jens Lekman Night Falls Over Kortedala, Beach House Beach House, Panda Bear Person Pitch, The Fiery Furnaces Widow City, Amy Winehouse Back to Black, Bill Callahan Woke on a Whaleheart, Bonde do Rolê all tracks, M.I.A. Kala, Gogol Bordello Super Taranta!, The Good, The Bad & The Queen The Good, The Bad & The Queen, The National The Boxer
• Ffffound - I am so overwhelmed by the internet lately, it seems to double in size daily. Ffffound is a website (and an RSS feed) of images, mostly art and design related – 100+ a day. Browsing quickly through an endless stream of images as a means to find good art, websites, and portfolios is awesome. I recently read an article that addressed the issue of Ffffound not having an open membership, it’s invite only to join and post. A select group of people are curating images for a massive audience, but on the other hand if it were open to all the quality would surely diminish and the feed would be way too much to keep up with.
• Rocky Balboa – He came into our lives under depressing circumstances but we have grown to appreciate him, despite the bad attitude, smush face, and occasional stray turd. He is a loved and admired resident of the Duffy household. Flza calls him Old Grusome.

• I like/favorite most of the movies I see. I hated Ratatouille.

Finished!
I initially bound the thing using a GBC machine and silver combs I found at work. After binding every single one I realized there was no easy way to hang it up. To fix it, my boss helped me un-bind it and make it into a tear-off style pad. This is probably the first project I’ve done for 100% fun since college and I really enjoyed it. Any ideas for more projects people would want?
