Finally, got to see Jens Lekman! He played an acoustic show this weekend w/ Bill Wells at William & Mary. This is the first time he’s come closer than DC, and on a weekend no less! He was wonderful, his “intimacy” makes me uncomfortable. I stepped in dog poop on the walk from the car and spent the better part of the evening offending myself and friends with my odor.
Also, in attempts to find me “something to look forward to” Anna-Claire discovered both Oasis (with Ryan Adams & The Cardinals) and CSS are playing in DC on December 20th… also a Saturday. Naturally I would prefer Oasis, but isn’t $52-$72 ridiculous? They think they are Madonna.

Dude, tell me about it. Just because that comes out to 40 pounds or whatever doesn’t mean we should pay it. Even 40 pounds sounds like too much money. They’re not even the same band they were 8 years ago. I have ideas, Alicia, and one is that Oasis should have changed their name when they started to sound completely different and lost all but two band members.
BUT, do you think they’ll play the classics? And do you think they’ll sound the same? Or will they try to push new crap…
They’ll have to play the old stuff. I happen to like the new album, though. I have seen them three times and can’t tell any experience apart or remember much other than “Slide Away” was really good live. I went back and forth about going, and decided that the new concert would not be worth that amount of money and that I wouldn’t appreciate it as much anyway. I was hoping that they would get real and play the National for $30. That would be perfect.
i’m on the fence, i’ve only seen them once – when i was 13. but most things i loved when i was 13 dissapoint me now, like my so called life..
Oh, that’s the picture I was going to take of Jens Saturday night until some Amazon woman stood in front of me and frat boys sang along to the one song they knew from a mix cd.
oh, no, that was just one of the many zillions of a capella groups that w&m has. couldn’t you tell by their matching pajama outfits? they were trying to outsing jens.
