Adventures

This past weekend I got to spend the day with Annie and my favorite dog, Chuck / Big Face. Annie mentioned a while back that she wanted to find a home for him, and ever since I have been pining for him. Everyone I’ve spoken to about this (including Annie) said “Bad Idea! You can’t handle the disgusting!” The farts, the drool, destroyed shoes, slimy car… and I now agree I can’t. I do love him so much – I hope she has to keep him forever. We went to the park, watched Suze Orman, and went to the mega-huge Forever 21 at Regency Mall, it’s like it’s own department store. I got red shoes.

Electronic Castaways

Ginny turned 27 this week. A-C made a Mighty Boosh themed birthday dinner at Kobe on Friday. I think Ginny liked it – so it was a success! I think Japanese steakhouses are fun even though I don’t eat the meat.

Inside times

All this endless snow, ice, wind and wet has left me with nowhere to turn but the internet. A place I clearly despise. Here are the interesting things I’ve come across this week or last week:

Is the endless data stream eroding our attention spans? Ars Technica
Very relevant (to me) article on the effects of the “throbbing networked intelligence”

Black Bean Brownies miel et cannelle.
Bean brownies does not sound delightful but I think it will be. I am going to try this one out this weekend and let you know.

Posthumous Hosting Zeldman
Interesting post on the longevity of web content compared to printed work. When your gone who pays your hosting?

House

This movie, House, looks insane. I saw it on I Love Hot Dogs last night and got so excited I e-mailed them suggesting the Naro as a venue. I don’t have high hopes of seeing it in a theater, but I imagine it should be out on DVD shortly. Criterion also has a pretty sweet House poster for sale.

Snow Day

This weekend was amazing. I didn’t get to do anything I had planned – Of Montreal, Ginny, A-C, Annie, Ikea. BUT it was not for nothing, it snowed all day Saturday! Mike and I took a walk to get coffee, watched Blade Runner, a No Reservations marathon and Mighty Boosh. It was even prettier this morning. Today I put the kitties in the snow and they did not mind. I put some more photos on flickr.

oh yea, my new boots, which i thought we just for fashion, were so functional. no wet feet/pants, snow didn’t even stick to them. i felt like santa claus.
